This time, long ago men died and fought. They lost their lives for ours that we treat as naught. We say 'Lest we forget', but we do just that. When we ignore the events happening far from our doormat. They faced the greatest strife and it was all for us. So we could shoot and beat and relish in cold blood. So when will this stop, when will we learn. When you look at the past does it make your stomache turn? The past isn't over, we still cause this pain. For land and for money, it isn't worth the gain. This day  as you remember those who are gone, please take a moment and think Is this war really won?

Outside the cabin, the wind howled through the trees, while inside, the old woman's fire was nearly out. She cursed under her breath as she reached one fragile, shaking hand towards the pile of wood beside the fireplace. Only a few pieces of wood remained there. I wait for their cries when they see me, a skeletal form in a skeletal world. I wait for them to fear me. Hysterical sobs as they flea mass hysteria. I wait for them to hurt me. Their frightful fists as frightful nights surround me. I wait for them to wound me. My mortal soul battered by their immortal slurs. I wait for them to kill me. As they slowly drain my life away, until even my skeletal form is lifeless and limp. I wait for them to mourn me. Prayers and pointless charities on my behalf. A declaration of pointless love made en masse. I wait.
